Housing market slowdown beginning to take effect in the Republic. |
The long predicted soft landing in the housing market in the Republic of Ireland is beginning to take effect, according to the latest quarterly review from Bank of Ireland. House price inflation has certainly slowed, according to the permanent tsb / ESRI
house price index. Prices nationally rose by 11.8% last year, but this reflects a
surge in the early months of the year, with a deceleration evident from the
summer – prices nationally rose by 0.8% in the fourth quarter, following a 2.8%
increase in the third, and 4.2% in Q2. Bank Of Ireland March 2007 Report - Rep of Ireland (PDF) |
